Arya is the only daughter of a wealthy family in India who has everything, except for a life. Everyone tell her that she is destined to become the next Prime Minister, but she just wants to be happy. That's when her father introduces her to Sardar Khan, an Indian billionaire who lives in America. The more time Arya spends with Sardar, the more she realizes that he is not what he seems. It eventually leads to tragedy on many levels when their love story crumbles and they are forced apart for good. Will Arya ever be able to conquer her fears and give love another chance? Bollywood Hungama rated it 3/5 stars saying that director Ashwini Dhir has done an average job. However, Mr.Pranay Chaudhary from Koimoi gave a Two and a Half Star rating as he wrote that "Son of Sardaar is one of those films that’ll stick with you!!!" "Son of Sardar" opened strongly at number one on the box office on the first day collecting around Rs 12 crore nett against a budget of Rs 2.5 crore. The film collected around Rs 20 crore on its opening weekend which is a very good start for a film produced in such a small budget of Rs 2.5 crores. The film ended its theatrical run on 6 November 2013 with a Gross of Rs 45.15 crore nett, making it one of the biggest hits of 2013. The film was awarded 3 stars out 5 by Boxofficeindia.
